TALAHASSEE, FL – Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 22, more than 500 activists and community members will gather at the State Capitol to raise their voices in the fight for reproductive freedom. The “Fight for Repro Freedom” Day of Action is in response to the abortion ban moving swiftly through the Florida Legislature.
Jasmen Rogers, Black in Repro Project Coordinator for Floridians for Reproductive Freedom said, “Floridians across the state watched the abortion ban pass on the House Floor with its gross displays of inhumanity by legislators excited to ban abortion. This is not the will of the people.
Ms. Rogers continued, “Floridians need more access to health care, not politicians inserting themselves between patients and doctors.”
Representative Anna Eskamani (D-Orlando) weighed in, “It is time to stop politicians from imposing their personal beliefs and anti-abortion views on others. It is time we move forward recognizing reproductive health care as a human right -- and that includes access to abortion.”
