COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – This morning (Wednesday, Jan. 8), beginning at 9 am, the Columbia County delegation is meeting in the Florida Gateway College board room. Senator Jennifer Bradley (R-Flemming Island) and Representative Chuck Brannan (R-Macclenny), Columbia County’s representatives in Tallahassee, will be in Administration Building No. 1, 149 SE College Place, Lake City.
The legislative delegation holds a public hearing each year to afford local officials, members of the public, and other interested parties the opportunity to present legislative proposals or express opinions on state issues.
Legislative delegation meetings are public meetings happening before the start of a new legislative session. These meetings occur throughout the state; Senators and Representatives from each district are present at their respective meetings. These forums are open to the public. If you want to affect change and policy, it is very important to show up at your local delegation meeting.
By sharing your opinions and ideas with your legislators, you help them decide what to do about issues and how to shape legislation that affects you and your community.
