Chief Judge Feagle’s Term Unanimously Extended, Judge’s Updated Court COVID-19 Plan Released

COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – Chief Judge Mark E. Feagle was unanimously elected to a second two-year term by the Judges of the Third Judicial Circuit on Friday. His new term will start on July 1, 2021. The Chief Judge is responsible for the speedy, efficient, and proper administration of justice as well as all administrative matters before the Court.
On Thursday, Judge Feagle released the updated COVID-19 Operational Plan for the Third Judicial Circuit.
All counties within the Third Judicial Circuit remain in Phase 2. Columbia County is the only county with Phase 2 limitations.
Columbia County has not reached the threshold requirements to allow in-person court proceedings, with the exceptions that qualify as essential court proceedings as outlined in Chief Justice Canady's Administrative Orders.

Phase 2 authorizes in-person contact for certain purposes, but requires use of protective measures.
