Dan Hartley stepped up to the lectern and introduced himself, "I am Chuck's district secretary."

Mr. Hartley said Representative Brannon was very interested in the economic development activities going on on U.S. 90 East (read: waste water treatment plant grant) and that the Representative Brannon's offices would do whatever it could to make the project a success.

Mr. Hartley told The 5 that they were opening an office in LC and just had the phones put in, adding, "We want to be able to serve the whole district."

Commissioner Rocky Ford asked, "Is your office staffed through the week?"

Mr. Hartley answered, "The office is staffed through the week, Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. We'll be staffing the office in Baker County, as well."

He continued, "We are in the process of working our schedules out. We are trying to get both offices staffed all the time through the week so we'll be available to anybody in the district who needs us."

"We're excited. We're looking forward to the next two years. Hopefully the next eight years. Anyway we can help you guys and anybody you know, we'll do everything we can to help them. If we can't help them, we'll find somebody who can."

Mr. Hartley concluded his remarks, "I wasn't going to come until I was really, really prepared, but I really thought that we needed to start the New Year out right; let you guys meet me; see who I am; and let you know that  Mr. Brannon absolutely wants to do all that he can for the district... We want to reach out to as many people as we can."

After a brief discussion about duel office holding, Representative Brannon sits on the Florida Gateway College Board, Chairman Williams thanked Mr. Hartley for coming.
