College Night at Florida Gateway College, Where Dreams Begin for Everyone

COLUMBIA COUNTY, FL – On Tuesday, August 30, beginning at 5 pm, Florida Gateway College (FGC) is hosting the 30th Annual College Night at the college’s Howard Conference Center.

The event highlights more than 40 colleges and universities from the southeast.

Dr. Lawrence Barrett, President of FGC, told the Observer, "The College has always hosted this event as part of a college fair tour that students attend across Florida and the US. It is important for families and individuals to have access to this type of event because of the region's low college access rates."

"While I would like students to attend FGC because of its low cost and many degree programs, I also understand that it is about a student's fit and they may want to go away."

"This is a great opportunity to meet and speak one-on-one with individual college representatives and is a worthwhile addition to finding information on the internet."

Colleges and universities from Florida, Georgia and Alabama will be represented.

Some of those in attendance will be Saint Leo University, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, Florida School of the Arts, Tuskegee University and many others.

Anyone with children or thinking of having children should attend. High school students should attend. Those looking to enhance their secondary educations should attend, and retirees looking for second careers should attend.

Higher education lifts you up.

The event is free and open to everyone.
