From City Manager Wendell Johnson
Greater Lake City Community Development Council
(CDC)
We received notice this week that Enterprise
Florida has approved the CDC’s application for
the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program.
On November 15, 2010 the City Council
approved Resolution 2010-12 to support the CDC’s
participation in this program, which is designed
to revitalize and strengthen the City’s CRA
District by enhancement of home ownership
opportunities to very low, low, and moderate
income families.
The CDC expressed their appreciation for the
City’s support in this successful effort.
The City continues to work with the CDC for
“mixed-use” redevelopment of the old gas
department and water tower property (Escambia
Street).
The CDC is negotiating with owners for
acquisition of three contiguous properties with
plans to redevelop an entire City Block.
Capital Expenditure Activity
The City initiated two major capital purchases
this week within the General Fund CIP Budget.
