City Utilities

The City Utility Advisory Committee will meet on November 9, 2011, at 6 pm in City Hall. This will be the first meeting since reorganization of the Committee.

A number of important issues will be discussed including the status of the Kicklighter Wastewater Water Treatment Plant Project; exchange of the City’s gas and water meters to an automated “smart” metering system; abandonment of the Elevated Water Tank located on Escambia Street; and utility easement property acquisition.

The City has the availability of substantial Build America and Utility Bond Revenue along with reserve utility funds to provide flexibility in utility system upgrade needs.

The Advisory Committee will discuss system upgrade options and priorities during the meeting.
