 CAREER HISTORY: Thirty years of result-oriented success in mid-level management positions in highly diversified organizations. Extensive experience in Construction, Maintenance, Engineering and Budgets. 

Mar 06 - Jan 08: Director, Roads & Bridges Department, Pickens County, S.C., a population of approximately 110,000. Directed the day to day operations of 29 employees and 30 inmates performing construction and maintenance of county roads, 67 bridges, storm water facilities and other county facilities. Implemented a road maintenance program to select roads for resurfacing based on condition of road. Managed $1.6 million in resurfacing for FY 07/08 and prepared the department's $2.5 million resurfacing program for FY 08/09 in addition to the department's $4.2 million annual budget. Assisted the County Soil and Water Conservations District in obtaining $1 million from the National Resource Conservations Service under the Emergency Watershed Protection Act. Provided technical assistance to local government entities. 

Sep 97 - Jan 06: Director, Roads & Bridges, Maintenance Garage and Mosquito Abatementdepartments, Berkeley County, S.C., a population of approximately 145,000. Directed the day to day activities of 88 full and 15 part time employees performing; construction and maintenance of 450 miles of county roads, storm water facilities, boat landings and other county facilities; maintenance and repair of more than 450 pieces of heavy equipment and emergency vehicles and the identification and control of mosquitoes within the populated areas of the county. Designed facilities for improved storm water conveyance throughout the county. Coordinated construction projects with other county departments. Provided guidance and assistance to local government entities. Served on the County Transportation Committee identifying road improvement projects utilizing $2 million annual fuel tax. Prepared and managed each department's annual budget.

 

May 96 -- Aug 97: Self Employed:  Project Manager for several commercial projects

 

Jun 89 - Apr 96: Construction Project Coordinator/Manager, Public Works Department Brevard County, Florida, a population of 455,000. Coordinated the efforts of 120 personnel in the resolution of drainage problems, road construction and maintenance, paving operations, utility upgrades and installation of new storm water systems. Coordinated the design, permitting and construction of capital projects with appropriate regulatory agencies for the Roads & Bridges, Storm Water Improvement and Facilities Construction Divisions.

 Mar 86 - Jan 89: Assistant Public Works Superintendent, City of Cocoa Florida, a community of 19,000. Managed six supervisors and 21 employees in the construction and maintenance of city roads, parks, storm water drainage systems. Supervised the operations of the City Garage responsible for maintaining 80 pieces of heavy equipment and vehicles. 

Nov 82 - Feb 86: Senior Enlisted Engineer Advisor, US Army Readiness Group Patrick AFB, Florida Provided assistance and guidance to US Army Corps of Engineer military organizations throughout Florida in matters pertaining to Engineering, Maintenance, Management and Construction.
